Talk to any of the great marketers and they’ll tell you, you need a website.
You don’t have to have a 10 page site, just consider a landing page. This is where folk will land when they click the link to your website.
Let me show you how I can create a one page website in maybe 30 seconds.
Open notepad and paste this piece of code to the page. It’s a piece of html code and it’s indicating the heading of the page.
Now save it as index.html – save it where you can easily find it and go there.
You’ll see the file, this doesn’t open like an ordinary file, double click it and then check your browser bar. In that piece of code we added ‘Hello World’
And now you see your first create web page. Any file named index.html or index.htm will always show as the first page (landing page of your site).
You have your Domain and Hosting (hopefully) your business e mail address (fasthost will usually create this for you and send the details.)
There is the option to buy a Website builder and for the extra £1 per month, worthwhile the expenses. If you’re going to sell digital products, go for the E commerce builder, this will build in your payment section, usually WooCommerce and other handy tools.
When you’re taking payments Online, you are going to need API keys for security.
Paypal and Stripe definitely require a key but there’s already a post available to take you through that step.
Now, claim your e mail, get Notepad and write all the details down(there’ll be passwords) and keep in a separate file so you’re not losing anything.
Once upon a time, there was a wonderful place attached to website hosting called ‘cpanel’. It doesn’t come with Fasthosting and where it does come with hosting, it tends to add quite a lot to the costs.

Now for WordPress.
Nothing has really changed with WordPress sites, except now AI can build you it from the get go. The only thing wrong with this is, we forget these are Robots, Artificial intelligence so, like Spock, everything is Logic. No emotions or feelings, no heart and definitely no soul. You will never replace the way a human can think or feel, how they an show their emotions and passion and sadly that’s missing in a lot of work out there. Love what you do and it will show, that’s what draws people.
